In February of 1999, Ms. Eunice Hagler was appointed Probate Judge and Commission Chairperson to fill the remainder of Judge Floyd Johnston's term, following his untimely death.   In November of 2000 she became the first woman to be elected Probate Judge in the history of Dale County.  Prior to that, she served for almost forty years under the five previous Probate Judges, in every capacity in the Probate Office, primarily as the Chief Clerk.
